Every teacher and administrator within a district can take advantage of membership benefits when their district is a TIE member. A list of current TIE members is available HERE.
TIE Membership benefits for the 2011-2012 school year:
- FREE customized technical training from New Horizons. Specific and timely professional development for technology coordinators/network administrators provides the right training at the right time to stay on the cutting edge of technology. Tier 2-4 districts receive the equivalent of 2 full days of training (an $800 value) and Tier 5-6 districts receive 4 days ($1,600 value).
- FREE workshop on DVD. Finding time for quality professional development is no longer
a challenge with the free TIE workshop on DVD. The flexible
delivery formats of these video-based workshops eliminate
scheduling issues and give educators the ability to participate
in quality professional development when it fits into their
unique schedules. The TIE Workshops on DVD feature
effective classroom practices for engaging today's learners.
- FREE Online Workshops. Whether looking to earn additional graduate credits or simply interested in a current topic, TIE provides numerous online workshops at no cost to TIE members on a variety of topics, from deepening content area understanding to 21st century skills.
- Tech Tuesday Webinars.
Struggling to keep up with the latest web-based innovations?
In one hour or less, get the quick and dirty on a different
Web 2.0 tool each month. Held on the first Tuesday afternoon
of every month, these live webinars only require an Internet
connection to participate-no telephones, microphones, or
webcams required. Each webinar is also recorded, so it can be
viewed and reviewed at any time.
- FREE general TIE Conference registration. School leaders can stay current with 21st century learning and technology trends by attending the TIE Conference with free registration for a superintendent, principal, or school board member. Tier 2-4 members receive one conference registration ($190 value) and Tier 5-6 members receive two conference registrations ($380 value).
- 26th Annual Education Conference - April 15-17, 2012 - Sioux Falls, SD
- Discounts for the TIE Conference. In addition to the one free registration, TIE Member school districts receive a registration discount for all of their staff members who attend.
- Discounts from TIE Membership Vendor Partners. Cut your costs on hardware, software, professional services, and more by purchasing products at a reduced cost from over 30 discount partners. New discount partners are added on a regular basis, and special offers are also provided.
- Reduced rates for individual school district contracts. Let the TIE education technology specialists meet your specific professional development or project management needs on site by contracting with TIE for these services. Rates for TIE members are significantly lower than for non-TIE members.
- Reduced rates on tools for data-driven decision making. Member districts have the added benefit of being able to purchase Analysis Services. These easy to read charts and graphs of your district and school data save your staff time and energy in crunching the numbers, allowing more time to focus on developing strategies to address the needs made visible.

Additional savings accumulate from vendor discounts, online course participation, individual school district contracts, and TIE Conference discounts. Last year, these savings totaled over $400,000 for TIE member school districts.
TIE Membership is based on K-12 district student enrollment. Following is the TIE Membership structure for the 2011-2012 school year:
